LOVING THE LIGHT AT THE HUMMINGBIRD MIGRATION HIGHLIGHTS OF 9 20 G
We see visible light and know it came from the Sun. The Sun is not a rock. It is a ball of plasma made up of mostly Hydrogen and Helium. At the center core, these highly pressurized gasses explode (thermonuclear fusion). In this process, high energy photons (gamma rays) are created. The photon travels through many layers to reach the surface of the sun. The estimated travel time is: between 10 thousand to 170 thousand years! After that long journey to the surface of the sun (photosphere), it takes about 8 minutes to get to earth as energy! The light we see and feel was created thousands of years ago. Enjoy!
