THE LAST ONE STANDING IN THE BUZZARD SUN TREE!

Hi Everybody!!
Today we are looking at the last red headed buzzard. All the rest have taken off on their spring migration. I suspect this one is Lucy's mate. Lucy is a female Black Vulture who has a nest under this buzzard tree. Old Red (pictured), is a Turkey Buzzard (or Turkey Vulture). These 2 separate species have cross-mated in this herd that overwinters at Kates Cabin. I am looking forward to seeing the baby! Anyway, the buzzard sun tree was a huge oak that died years ago. I found some photos from 4 years back of the sun tree and buzzards in their full glory! Enjoy!
