THE FIRST SUNSET OF MARCH 2015 ON RAINBOW CREEK

Hi Everybody!!
Good News from here:  all plants made it through the freeze without loosing any buds! Today we are viewing the first sunset of March. (Yes, the clouds finally broke on March 3 and the sun was very bright).  I cannot see the sunset from the bird feeding arena, so I had to walk down to the creek and find the sun through the winter trees. Please join me on the photo walk and see who I found in the woods watching the sun set.  Make plans to catch a few sunsets for yourself!  Enjoy!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunset
Sunset or sundown is the daily disappearance of the Sun below the western horizon, as a result of Earth's rotation.
The time of sunset is defined in astronomy as the moment when the trailing edge of the Sun's disk disappears below the horizon. The ray path oflight from the setting Sun is highly distorted near the horizon because of atmospheric refraction, making the sunset appear to occur when the Sun’s disk is already about one diameter below the horizon. Sunset is distinct from dusk, which is the time at which the sky becomes completely dark, which occurs when the Sun is approximately eighteen degrees below the horizon. The period between sunset and dusk is called twilight.

Here we are down at the creek. It is dark in here!

Do you see the stranger in the woods watching the sun set?

It is a Black Vulture!

WOW- What a sunset!

...this is brendasue signing off from Rainbow Creek.  See you next time!
