Hi Everybody!!
Today we are looking at several birds that are now nesting on the grounds of Kates Cabin Bird Sanctuary in Texas. The first bird is "Lucy", a black vulture. Her nest is on the ground under the 'buzzard tree'. I have not seen the chicks yet, but I see her come and go. Next is a house wren, who selected a birdhouse on my front porch! This small songbird has a huge song and enjoys being around humans. The final surprise in the photo lineup is a hummingbird male Ruby-throated. He showed up after Valentine's Day when the winter hummer left. He has a female and one baby I have seen. Birds will nest in your yard if you provide habitat, food, water and safety. Enjoy!
