A MEMORIAL DAY PARADE OF BIRDS AT KATES CABIN

Hi Everybody!!
I have been out digging in the dirt and planting flowers from sunup to sundown the last 5 five days. For Memorial Day this year, I decided to plant flowers not only for American Soldiers, but for all Fallen Soldiers on Earth. I am still planting flowers with prayers today. I am so sorry for the Mothers, mates, and children of the those who die in war.  The birds and critters of Kates Cabin Bird Sanctuary are a Memorial Day Parade of Life for you.
Enjoy!

It is very difficult for most people to see the hummingbirds in the trees, so I am posting this series of Elvis taking a "fluff feather air bath'. He flashes his ruby red gorget at will.

AND THE WINNER OF THE SONGBIRD VOICE CONTEST IS: THE MALE CARDINAL!!

Hi Everybody!!
We had a competition here at the Bird Sanctuary for the best singing voice of a songbird. With all the nests, songbirds have been singing from dawn to dusk. The babies know their parents' voice by the time the egg hatches! The scarlet red male cardinal is the first place winner. Second  goes to the little chickadees. The persistent  mockingbird flies into third place. The mocker has more songs and range, but he has a bad attitude and bullies the other birds. The cardinal welcomes all the migrants in a very caring manner, as he shows them the feeding stations and water holes. Enjoy!
