THE TURKEY BUZZARD MIGRATION AT KATES CABIN (IN PROGRESS)

Hi Everybody!!
The winter Turkey Buzzard Migration is ongoing here at Kates Cabin. The photostudy for today was shot on 1 6 2015, which was the last day I saw the sun! The red headed buzzards (also know as Turkey Vultures), have been coming to this little creek every winter for the 50 years I have been around these woods. I went back through my web albums and pulled out a few photos of these same buzzards for the last few years, shared below. The 'Buzzard Sun Tree' across from my driveway has been a dead tree for many years. It has lost most of the former branches now, so not many can sit at the same time. At first glance, these birds look like statues. With a closer look, they move alot! Hummingbirds return next post. Enjoy!

HEY*HEY*HEY* IT'S KING BUZZ ON MY BIRTHDAY!

Hi Everybody!!
King Buzz arrived in time for my birthday with all the other Turkey Buzzards of the Winter Migration at Kates Cabin Bird Sanctuary in Texas. They came in on Thanksgiving and will be here until March, along with some Black Vultures who joined the red heads about 5 years ago. You may find it odd that I have tiny hummers in the summer and huge buzzards in the winter, but I remind you these birds chose to come here. I did not go buy them at the Pet Shop!  Anyway, the photostudy today is of my Birthday on 12/12. Thank you all for your fine wishes. (The Hummingbird Migration review returns next post.)  Enjoy!
